

According to her, the accident occurred on an unlit section of the road. The 49-year-old Kiev resident driving in the car, according to preliminary data, was sober, law enforcement officers indicated.
The police opened a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road safety rules or transport operation).
Ukrainian online media (RBC-Ukraine, Ukrayinska Pravda), citing sources, wrote that the founder of the investment company Concorde Capital, Igor Mazepa, was driving the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
The businessman confirmed the road incident on Facebook.
“Unfortunately, I have to report a traffic accident in which I was a participant. On February 9, returning to Kyiv, on the Zhytomyr highway I had an accident involving a third party… In order to prevent possible insinuations, I inform you that I was not tired, did not use any substances prohibited for drivers, which was confirmed by a medical examination on the spot, and did not violate any traffic rules,” he wrote, adding that he was cooperating with the investigation.
