In Krasnoyarsk, at the ProTechno center for technical creativity, registration is underway for courses on controlling unmanned aerial vehicles. The mayor's office spoke about this.
In November 2025, specifically for conducting combat operations using unmanned systems, on behalf of the country's President Vladimir Putin, a new branch of unmanned systems troops was created in the Russian army. To be sure to qualify for elite units, many contract recruits are sent to special courses, for example, at ProTechno. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 18:00 to 19:30 at the address: Alyosha Timoshenkov Street, 87a.
In an hour and a half, master class participants receive theoretical foundations about the structure of UAVs and their control. Citizens also try to control a drone in a simulator – they fly, overcome obstacles and practice landing an unmanned aerial vehicle. During the classes, everyone can test the strength of their vestibular system, as well as test fine motor skills – these are key requirements for working with drones. Let us note that the number of contract volunteers wishing to serve in the troops of unmanned systems increased by 2 times in January 2026 compared to December last year. This is facilitated by a special contract with unique conditions. It can be terminated after 12 months at the request of the serviceman. Drone operators cannot become attack aircraft or tank crews. They work 15 kilometers from the “red line”. Personnel losses are minimal. For a year of service in the troops of unmanned systems, you can earn from 6 million rubles.
“Those who sign a contract for UAV units serve only there. It is prohibited to transfer them to other troops. Age – from 18 to 45 years. The contract is signed for a year. After its completion, the soldiers can write a report and resign,” explained Denis Ganzha, deputy head of the selection point for military service under a contract in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Let us recall that at the end of January, the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the first reading adopted a law that strengthens the protection of military personnel returning from the North Military District in the labor market. Now they will have a pre-emptive right to keep their jobs if the company is downsizing.
