The program of the 28th stage of the Superliga provides that the derby Rapid – Dinamo to be played the day after FCSB – Metaloglobus. The scheduling may upset the plan of the Giulești team to host that match at the National Arena.
LPF announced today the schedule of the 28th stage of the regular season. It stipulates that FCSB will receive the visit of Metaloglobus on Saturday, February 21, at 20:30, and Rapid and Dinamo will face each other a day later, from 20:00.
Rapid is on the alert after the communication of the schedule, that's because the intention of the people of Giulești was to host Dinamo at the National Arena, and fixing the FCSB match the day before can turn everything upside down.
The National Arena could be blocked for Rapid – Dinamo
This is because in the contract between the stadium's administrator, Bucharest City Hall, and the company in charge of lawn maintenance, it is stipulated that in the event of matches being held on consecutive days, the turf guarantee is cancelled.
Practically, the maintenance company would no longer be responsible for possible lawn problems and would no longer be obliged to intervene to fix them.
Thus, it is unlikely that the City Hall of the Capital will accept the lease of the stadium by Rapid. The people of Giulești have sent a question to the City Hall and are waiting for the answeraccording to golazo.ro.
This is the situation in which Dinamo recently found itself. The “red dogs” could not rent the National Arena for the championship duel with Petrolul (Friday, January 30), because FCSB – Fenerbahce was played in the Europa League on the 29th.
Victor Angelescu, president of Rapid: “We are waiting for an answer”
Victor Angelescu, president and minority shareholder at Rapid, announced that in the event of an unfavorable response from the City Hall, his club will request the rescheduling of one of the games, either for FCSB – Metaloglobus to be played on Friday, or for the derby with Dinamo to be moved a day later, on Monday, on February 23.
“Indeed, there is this question mark because there are two games scheduled in two consecutive days. But there are solutions.
The first is that we are waiting for an answer from those who manage the Arena if they agree to play as the schedule is nowi.e. FCSB to be on Saturday and us on Sunday. It also happened that two matches were played in 24 hours.
If they don't agree, then we will appeal to the rights holder and the LPF to change the game schedule. Either they put FCSB on Friday, or they put us with Dinamo on Monday evening”, explained Angelescu for the quoted source.
Dinamo and Rapid have a reciprocity agreement, which stipulates that the opposing galleries receive an entire lawn of the National Arena during direct matches. It was respected in the tour, with Dinamo as the host, but it is under question for the return, given the conditions in Rapid could be forced to play in Giulesti.
“In this situation, the reciprocity will move for the play-off match, which we will play at the Arena, and if we can't organize that game there either, although we want to play at the Arena, then the reciprocity will be postponed for the first Rapid – Dinamo from next season“, the president of Rapidu said.
