Famous rock guitarist, singer and composer, Neil Young, has made his archive of songs available to the people of Greenland for free. He announced this on his website in response to US President Donald Trump's statements about his intention to take over Greenland from Denmark.

“I am honored to offer one year of free access to neilyoungarchives.com to all of our friends in Greenland. I hope my music and musical videos will provide some relief from the unreasonable stress and threats you are experiencing from our unpopular and hopefully temporary government,” the author of “Heart of Gold” and “Rockin' in the Free World” wrote online.
To enjoy free access to Neil Young's music, you need a phone with the Greenland area code (299).
“It is my sincere wish for you that you can enjoy all my music in your beautiful home, Greenland, in the best possible quality. This is an offer of peace and love. All the music I have written over the last 62 years is for you to listen to,” wrote the Canadian musician.
On his website, in the “news” tab, Young shares many articles and comments critical of Trump's policies, and he also wrote that the current president is “destroying the USA.” In a song from last year “Big Crime” referred to Trump and his administration, writing about “big crime” in Washington and the White House.
In October 2025, Neil Young removed his music from Amazon's streaming service, public broadcaster CBC recalled. A few days ago, the musician recalled his boycott of Amazon, writing that Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon, supports Trump.
Young was born in 1945 in Canada and began his musical career in Winnipeg in the 1960s. Then he moved to Los Angeles. He is on the list of the hundred most important music artists by Rolling Stone magazine. As of 2020, Neil Young also has American citizenship, but he returned to Canada shortly after obtaining it and now lives near Omemee, Ontario.
