A 55-year-old woman from a locality in Argeș was detained after assaulting her younger partner with a knife, the incident being classified as domestic violence.

In the context in which the number of cases of domestic violence in Romania is increasing, a new incident took place in a locality in Argeș. This time, the victim was not a woman, as happens in most reported situations, but a 46-year-old man, attacked with a knife by his concubine.
The incident took place in Poiana Lacului commune, at the man's home, against the backdrop of accumulated tensions between the two partners.
According to a press release from the Argeș County Police Inspectorate, quoted by Agerpres, law enforcement quickly moved to the scene, as a result of a call to 112, and found that the 55-year-old woman, from the town of Bârla, allegedly attacked and threatened her concubine, 9 years younger, wounding him superficially in the area of the chest and right hand with a kitchen knife.
The woman was detained for a period of 24 hours, after which she will be presented to the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Pitesti Court, with the proposal of taking a preventive measure.
According to official data, Argeș County registers hundreds of cases of domestic violence every year, and the police recommend that people facing such situations immediately notify the authorities by calling 112.
