Krasnoyarsk social activists are collecting votes for a complete ban on reagents on the roads

The Krasnoyarsk branch of the Federation of Russian Car Owners (KRODA) has launched a petition for a complete abandonment of deicing agents on city roads.

Initiative became a reaction to declaree Mayor Sergei Vereshchagin about stopping the use of industrial saltwhich, according to social activistspaves the way for wider use of chemicals.

In their post, they note that the reagents damage shoes and cars, negatively affect the environment and the health of citizens, causing allergies and poor health. In addition, activists point to accelerated corrosion of cars, suffering of pets from paw burns and environmental pollution.

Instead of chemicals, the Federation of Car Owners suggests relying on mechanical cleaning and the use of sand or granite chips.

The authorities are required to increase the fleet of special equipment, increase the efficiency of work, create a logistics center and snow melting plants, as well as improve working conditions for workers in the improvement sector. Current salaries (from 35 to 70 thousand rubles) were called unattractive.
