What we saw on TV and Youtube is only 10% of the shock experienced by US Vice President JD Vance when he was booed by tens of thousands of people at the opening ceremony of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
It is known and accepted. Politicians are generally received hostilely in the stadiums, except for those who are really microbiologists and have “long service” in the stands. When you display yourself in the sports showcase, the crowd perceives it as image opportunism and penalizes you. No tragedy.
