Sorana Cîrstea had no emotion in front of the British woman with Romanian origins. The player ranked 36th in the WTA won the first set to 0 against the main favorite of the tournament hosted by Cluj-Napoca. Faced with an Emma Răducanu who did not find herself at all, our athlete did not forgive anything. And in the second set, when the opponent seemed to be re-entering the match, Sori mobilized exemplary and broke away from 2-2 to 6-2, ending with fanfare a tournament in which he felt like a fish in water: no set lost and two “bagels” in the last two games.
After the successes in Tashkent in 2008, Istanbul 2021 and Cleveland 2025, Sorana Cîrstea puts her fourth trophy on display, with which she will climb to the 31st place in the world from Monday.
