Krasnoyarsk residents told how much money they are willing to spend on the New Year

Avito specialists found out how Krasnoyarsk residents want to celebrate the New Year and how much money they are going to invest in it.

According to the survey, 90% of residents of the regional capital are going to celebrate the coming year 2026. Young people aged 18-24 are least likely to refuse to celebrate. For the majority of residents of Krasnoyarsk, the New Year is a family holiday, so they will celebrate it mainly at home, with family and friends (81%).

Another 11% plan to spend the holiday night visiting loved ones. The remaining 8% choose non-standard options – for example, 4% will go out of town, 2% – on a trip. Another 2% will celebrate the New Year at a city event. Unusual locations are mainly chosen by young people aged 18-24.

“We see that the New Year for Russians remains a holiday that cannot be imagined without a family table, traditional tastes and cozy home decor. This year we see a trend that Russians are buying jewelry in advance, and often during November sales. The trend is dew garland and unusual handmade designer toys. In addition, we see a significant increase in interest in glass Christmas tree decorations,” commented Nikita Tkachev, head of the Furniture and Interior category on Avito.

New Year is an important holiday for many, so the majority (89%) plan to thoroughly prepare for it. Of these, 29% admit that they are going to do this more carefully than last year. Zoomers (41%) are mostly planning not to repeat their mistakes.

For the New Year, residents of Krasnoyarsk are mainly planning to update their holiday decor. Thus, 51% are going to buy garlands, wreaths and themed decor, 50% are going to buy Christmas tree decorations, 17% are going to buy holiday textiles, and 15% are going to buy holiday dishes and other serving accessories. Also, 41% plan to buy a Christmas tree this year – live or a new artificial one.

Another 52% plan to add a festive atmosphere with firecrackers, sparklers and fireworks, and 15% will take care of a carnival costume or at least a New Year's sweater. It is mainly young people aged 18-24 who think through the holiday dress code.

On average, respondents budget 14,000 rubles for the celebration. However, the majority strives to keep within 10,000 rubles (42%), of which 15% are even 5,000 rubles. 34% are ready to spend from 10,000 to 15,000, 15% – up to 30,000. Only 9% of respondents plan to spend more than these amounts.
