Fraudsters stole more than 140 million rubles from residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory

Since the beginning of 2026, scammers have defrauded residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory for 140,073,936 rubles. 438 people became victims of Internet criminals, the regional prosecutor’s office said.
According to the supervisory agency, over the past week alone, more than 71 million rubles were stolen remotely from 174 residents of the region:
- in 17 cases, citizens, having seen advertisements on the Internet about additional earnings, trading on the stock exchange, investment offers, entered into correspondence with scammers who stole their “deposits”;
- in another 52 cases there were calls from false service employees reporting that money in accounts was at risk. For safety, they offered to transfer them to “safe accounts.”
- in 38 cases, victims on the Internet followed phishing links on websites to make online purchases
- in 8 cases, victims received fake links and messages on social networks and instant messengers from the accounts of acquaintances asking for a loan of money;
- in 59 cases, victims were deceived by strangers on the Internet.
In each case, criminal cases have been initiated and investigated. The clearance rate for these crimes is 26.1% (108 crimes solved)
66 criminal cases of ITT theft were sent to the regional courts.
