
During the filming of the program, he also visited the Kiev Institute of Gerontology and underwent a comprehensive examination to find out his biological age. The results shocked the 42-year-old journalist – according to the test results, the condition of his body corresponds to the body of an almost 47-year-old man.
“That’s almost five years more,” he marveled.
Komarov decided to change his habits, take up exercise and, two months later, be examined again to see how this affected his biological age.
In the same issue, the head of the epigenetics laboratory at the Kyiv Institute of Gerontology, candidate of biological sciences Dmitry Krasnenkov explained that longevity depends on lifestyle and nutrition.
“The most effective recommendations are the simplest and most general: eat less sugar, move more and don’t smoke,” said the scientist. “Our superfood is buckwheat, kefir and sauerkraut, if you want to live well and [быть] healthy.”
Krasnenkov added that smoking takes about 10 years of life, and junk food and excess weight take about 5-10 years.
Context
Komarov was born in 1983 in Kyiv. In 2010, the premiere episode of his author’s travel program “The World Inside Out” took place on the “1+1” TV channel.
After the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Komarov filmed a chronicle of the war.
Previous episode of his original show was released in March 2025 and was dedicated to the Carpathians.
