At the end of the game, the coach of Rapid spoke about the situation of the newcomers in the group and about the choices made for the first “11”.

“I told you, I would have liked them to start well from the first match, from the first minute, but they also need adaptation. Both Moruțan and Paraschiv need time. We hope to have Talisson as soon as possible“, declared Gâlcă.

Asked if he regrets the experimental starting team, as suggested by Petrol's coach, Eugen Neagoe, the Giulești technician answered firmly:

It's Neagoe's opinion, I don't regret the decisions. In 12 days I played 4 matches, it's hard, it was also the time for the others to play. He has to prove that he deserves to be in this team, to play, because he has to have a very good level”.

Gâlcă also analyzed his team's performance from an offensive point of view:

“Today we didn't take the ball to the box… we did, but we weren't clear there. Let's achieve our goals and after that we will talk about other things”.

Gâlcă, thinking about the Romanian Cup

When asked about the next match, the decisive one for the qualification in the Romanian Cup, with U Cluj, the coach of Rapid emphasized the difficulty of the duel:

“Cluj (no – CFR) has a solid team, they beat us after a fixed phase and then caught us on a counterattack, but they are a well-worked, experienced team. In Cluj we want to win, to qualify for the Romanian Cupand it's important for us”, declared Constantin Gâlcă, in a flash interview, at Digi Sport.

Superliga standings

After this draw, Rapid does not manage to climb temporarily to the first place and may even lose the second position if Dinamo beats Universitatea Craiova. Giulești have 49 points after 26 stages, while Petrolul Ploiești is in 12th place, with 25 points and only one victory in the last seven stages of the Superliga.
