The “Boys Craiova” faction, a component of Peluza Sud Craiova, displayed a message in front of the “Ion Oblemenco” stadium, on the very evening when the team coached by Filipe Coelho became the leader again in the Super League, after the 1-0 victory over Oțelu Galati.

On Thursday, the Court of Appeal of Timișoara rejected the appeal submitted by CS Universitatea Craiova, the public law club, in the record file of Science. It thus returns to the decision made by the Dolj Court in May 2017, when the club under public law was denied the request to have its record recognized for the period 1948-1991, before the privatization of the team

The record is with the private company FC U Craiova SA, the team disaffiliated in 2011 and later entered bankruptcy.
“Over the years we have kept our faith / 5.02.2026 Justice does justice for Science!”, was the message displayed by supporters shortly after the decision of the Timișoara Court of Appeal.
Message in front of the “Ion Oblemenco” stadium, after the last decision of the Timișoara Court of Appeal
Just a few hours after the decision of the Timișoara Court of Appeal, which rejected the appeal submitted by CS Universitatea Craiova in the Science record file, the ultras of the “Boys Craiova” faction displayed a message in front of the “Ion Oblemenco” stadium. In recent years, they have been supporters of FCU Craiova, Adrian Mititelu's club.

“Throughout the years we have kept our faith / 5.02.2026 Justice does justice for Science!”, it was shown in the supporters' message. It is not clear if they appeared in front of the stadium during the match between CS Universitatea Craiova and Oțelul Galați in the Superliga, or shortly after the end of the game. The fact is that the nocturnal was still in operation.
Summary of the key moments of the process:
-
The public law club CS Universitatea Craiova requested in court the recognition that it owns the record of the blue-and-white club from the time of its establishment (1948) until 1991, the year of privatization.
-
In 2017, the Dolj Court rejected the public law club's request, which appealed. The trial was transferred to the Timișoara Court of Appeal.
-
In 2018, CA Timișoara decided that “there is no evidence that the plaintiff (no – CS Universitatea) was founded in 1948, but, on the contrary, from its documents it follows that it was founded in 1991 and acquired legal personality in 1995. There is no evidence that there is identity or continuity between the plaintiff and the historic football team Universitatea Craiova” – quoted from the motivation. It was a stage victory for Adrian Mititelu.
-
CS Universitatea Craiova filed an appeal, and it was admitted by the High Court in 2021. The panel of 3 judges decided, score 2-1, to re-judge the case “for procedural defects”.
-
At the retrial, on July 10, 2023, CS Universitatea Craiova received at the Timișoara Court of Appeal the record from 1948 (the year the Science was founded) – February 1, 1991 (the moment when the club was privatized). During this period, all 4 titles were won. It was basically a reversal of the solution from the first deliberation, in 2018, when CA Timișoara ruled against the public law club.
-
FC U Craiova's lawyers appealed, and on June 12, 2025, the High Court of Cassation and Justice annulled the 2023 decision and returned the case to the Timișoara Court of Appeal for a retrial.
-
Now, at this new retrial, the magistrates ruled in favor of Adrian Mititelu's company!
