The mayor of Secto 3, Robert Negoiţă, left the DNA headquarters on Thursday evening after hours of hearings and told the media that he does not consider himself guilty.
Robert Negoiţă left the DNA headquarters on Thursday evening, after almost six hours of hearings, got into a car and left, writes News.ro. Asked if he considers himself guilty, the mayor of District 3 replied: “No, not at all.”
Robert Negoiță was placed under judicial control by the anti-corruption prosecutors. They set him a bail of 800,000 lei, judicial sources told HotNews.ro.
Social-democratic mayor Robert Negoiţă is targeted in a case of abuse of office, in which DNA prosecutors conducted several searches on Thursday morning, both at his home and at the town hall he leads, judicial sources previously told HotNews. The file concerns the construction of roads without the necessary permits and in violation of the law. The mayor was brought, during the day, to the DNA headquarters for hearings.
Among the facts of which the mayor is accused is the construction of a road for his brother, a real estate developer, about which the Recorder reported.
The Prefect of the Capital, Andrei Nistor, states that the road was built “on the fly”, over a gas main, “without any authorization”.
Prosecutors have officially announced that the investigations are aimed at crimes similar to those of corruption, committed in the period 2017-2025. According to the DNA, 11 searches took place on Thursday, two of which were at the offices of public institutions and the rest at individuals or at the workplaces of some commercial companies.
