In just 12 months, 2,734 residents of the region fell ill with enterobiasis (2,989 in 2024).

“In general, the incidence rate does not exceed the long-term average. 99.4% of cases are children. Most often, enterobiasis was recorded among residents of Achinsk, Idrinsky, North Yenisei, Partizansky, Shushensky, Kuraginsky, Kazachinsky, Birilyussky, Abansky districts and Evenkia,” said epidemiologists.

Let's remember, uhnterobiasis is contact helminthiasis, caused by roundworms (pinworms), which parasitize the lower parts of the small intestine. Enterobiasis pathogens can reach up to 1 cm. You can become infected not only directly (through dirty hands), unwashed vegetables and fruits, but also through common objects: door handles, towels, bed linen, clothes, toys. The disease may be asymptomatic; if there are a lot of parasites, then patients are bothered by itching in the anus, abdominal pain, nausea, and upset stool. The diagnosis is made based on laboratory tests and treatment is prescribed by a doctor. You can read more about enterobiasis and measures to prevent it Here
