Two Krasnoyarsk residents were convicted of illegal production of liqueurs and moonshine (video)

Two residents of Krasnoyarsk, 36 and 39 years old, were given suspended sentences for illegal production of alcohol.

It was established that in the fall of 2019, a man who had been producing soft drinks for many years decided to expand his range. To do this, he set up a mini-workshop in a garage box on 1st Yakutskaya Street: he installed a moonshine still, mixing containers, purchased berries, sugar and glass containers.

“At first, the experiments were limited to homemade liqueurs, but over time, a small “hobby project” grew into full-fledged production. A Krasnoyarsk resident created a page on a social network called “Siberian liqueurs,” where he talked about “flavor lines” and offered products to those interested. To increase volumes, he hired an assistant – an employee officially employed as a kvass brewer. The products were distributed among friends and via the Internet, and were also found in one of the city’s stores. However, the alcohol on the bottles did not have the required federal marks, and its production and bottling were carried out without a license,” the prosecutor’s office said.

In the winter of 2024, illegal production was shut down by law enforcement officers who carried out test purchases. More than 2.5 thousand liters of unlabeled alcohol: wine, moonshine, mead and other drinks.

The court found the organizer of the underground business and his assistant guilty of illegal production (clause “a”, part 6, article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sale of unlabeled alcoholic and alcohol-containing products (clause “a”, part 2, article 171.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced them to imprisonment for a term of 2.5 to 3 years suspended.
