Looking for a quick, effective and delicious appetizer for your holiday table? These flaky cheese rolls are the perfect choice. They are prepared from simple ingredients, do not require culinary experience, and are so tasty that guests take them first – and ask for more!
Tender, airy dough, viscous cream cheese, piquant feta cheese and juicy tomatoes create a harmonious flavor contrast that will definitely not leave anyone indifferent.
What you will need (for 8–10 servings):
- 1 package of ready-made puff pastry without yeast (about 250–300 g);
- 150 g of hard cheese – grate;
- 150 g of pickled cheese – feta cheese or cheese (crush with your hands);
- 2 ripe tomatoes (without skin and excess moisture);
- 50 g pitted black olives (optional);
- 1 egg for brushing.
How to cook:
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
- Roll out the dough into an even rectangle (if it is already in layers, just lay it out on parchment).
- Sprinkle the surface evenly with grated hard cheese, then with crumbled feta cheese.
- Cut the tomatoes into small cubes, lightly squeeze out the juice and place on top of the cheese. Add chopped olives, if using.
- Roll the roll tightly on the long side, as if you were rolling up a carpet.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, seam side down.
- Brush the surface with beaten egg – this will make the rolls golden brown and shiny.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly (5-7 minutes), then cut into 2-3 cm thick portions using a sharp knife.
