Andrei Prepelita (40 years old) signed the termination of the contract and is no longer the coach of Unirea Slobozia. GSP.RO gathered more behind-the-scenes information that led to the split, in addition to the results and the place occupied by the Ialomists in the current Super League season.

The defeat in extra time with Petrolul Ploiești was fatal for Andrei Prepelita, who reached an agreement to terminate the contract with Unirea Slobozia, to be signed in the next few hours.

Even if the objective of the former midfielder was to “save from relegation”, the Ialomi bosses decided to put an end to the deal.

Andrei Prepelita no longer continues at Unirea Slobozia

Prepelita had signed with Unirea Slobozia in June 2025, after Adrian Mihalcea had saved the team at the dam.

Then, from the GSP information, he was promised “full support until the end of the contract, regardless of the problems the team encounters during the season”.

At this moment, Claudiu Niculescu, the technician from Slatina is the main favorite to take over Slobozia.

Something that was obviously not respected and it was decided to kick him out”, sources from the club tell GSP.RO.

Moreover, people around the coach revealed to Gazeta Sporturilor that “the world does not know under what conditions he agreed to sign the contract”.

Until the experience at Slobozia, Andrei Prepelita was also “principal” at FC Argeș, FC Buzău and Petrocub.
