Audero needed medical attention after coming off with a small cut on his leg and a clear burn mark in the exact area where the explosion took place, but continued in the match, saying it didn't feel right to abandon for such an incident.

“Inter were fined 50,000 euros and given a specific warning, due to their supporters throwing various pyrotechnic materials (firecrackers and smoke bombs) onto the pitch during the match.

More precisely, in the third minute of the second half, a firecracker thrown near an opposing player caused his temporary dizziness, the match being suspended for approximately three minutes,” reads the statement issued by the Italian football forum.

At the next incident, Inter risks the closing of the gates on the “Meazza”, the suspension of the field or even a penalty!

“Noting that, despite the particularly serious nature of the incident, the Sports Referee had to appropriately recognize, as a mitigating measure, the behavior of Inter in cooperating for the almost immediate identification of those responsible for the incident (Article 29, letter c), as well as the clear dissociation from the serious incidents that took place (Article 29, letter d), actively demonstrated by the players on the field, during the match and afterwards.

It is specified that, in the activation of the specific warning, in the case of similar behaviors, which poses a risk to the safety of players, technical staff, match officials and support staffone or more of the sanctions provided for in Article 8, paragraph 1, letters d), e) and f) will be applied, in accordance with Article 26, paragraph 3, of the CGS”, Lega Calcio explains.

The sanctions provided for in article 8, paragraph 1, letters d), e) and f) of the Sports Justice Code (CGS), applicable to clubs, go from the obligation to play matches behind closed doors at home, suspension of the field until de-pointing in the ranking.
