The Israeli Prime Minister, according to a statement from his office, he also demanded that the Palestinian Authority not engage in any way in the management of the Gaza Strip. He also emphasized that “Iran has repeatedly proven that it cannot be trusted to keep its promises.”

More talks between the US and Israel

This is the second visit by an American envoy to Israel in two weeks. The previous one took place on January 24, and Witkoff, accompanied by the US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner, pressed Israel to quickly open the border crossing in Rafah. This crossing was opened on Monday.

Mossad Director David Barnea, Defense Minister Israel Kac and Chief of the General Staff Eyal Zamir also took part in Tuesday's meeting with Witkoff on the Israeli side.

Witkoff's visit to Jerusalem precedes US-Iran talkswhich are organized through Egypt, Qatar, Oman and Turkey and will probably take place on Friday in Istanbul, although Tehran wants them to be moved to Oman, as Axios reported.
