Specialists from Krasnoyarsk SATP explained how the city conductsremoval of snow from roads and why it is not removed immediately.

The process consists of two stages. First, clearing the roadway: during snowfall, combined vehicles shovel snow to the roadsides, forming snow banks; The task is to clear the road for transport as quickly as possible. This is followed by snow loading and removal using special kits. It is noted that this scheme has been worked out for years and is enshrined in regulatory documents.

“When planning snow removal, the following are taken into account: the availability of technical resources, time of day (kits, as a rule, work at night), priority of roads, weather conditions and parking on the roadway. Therefore, a certain period of time passes between cleaning stages. Snow falls in our city throughout the winter; we have to remove it from the roads more than once during the season. For example, on the Communal Bridge alone, snow has already been removed 7 times this winter. Therefore, if you see snow banks, this means that cleaning in this area has not yet been completed, and the snow will definitely be removed,” said SATP.
