Today, January 6, the grand opening of the Youth Ice Sculpture Competition of the Xth Festival “Magic Ice of Siberia” will take place in Krasnoyarsk. At 17:00 on Teatralnaya Square there will be a concert with the participation of the cover band “Good Fellas”.
The mayor's office said that on January 7, family teams and children will compete in creating snow and ice figures; the drawing of lots for teams will begin at 10:15 on the Central Embankment. Competitors will work for 3.5 hours – from 10:30 to 14:00. At 13:20 the interactive and concert programs will start, life-size dolls will appear on stage.
The awards ceremony for the participants and winners of the family and children's competition “Magic Ice of Siberia” will begin at 14:30. From 15:00 to 15:30 there will be a sleigh parade on the Central Embankment, and from 15:30 to 15:45 there will be a parade of Santa Clauses.
A Christmas concert featuring the folk song “Musical Folk Squad” will take place on Theater Square at 17:00.
From January 6 to January 11, young sculptors will create their competition works.
You can watch the work of professional teams sculpting sculptures from snow and ice from January 12 to 17. This year, teams of masters from China, Belarus and Mongolia will take part in the festival. For the first time, sculptors from South Korea will compete for the title of best.
