Record attendance in the UEFA Youth League, the competition equivalent to the Champions League for the junior teams of the clubs participating in the number 1 European competition. At Koln – Inter 1-3 there were 50,000 people in the stands!
This evening, Koln's U19 team received the visit of similar team Inter in the “16th” of the Youth League.
The supporters of the “goats” mobilized fantastically for this match. They filled the RheinEnergieStadion, the stadium where the senior team plays, to set a record attendance in the competition, 50,000 people!

Interestingly, the previous record of 40,368 spectators belonged to today's Koln opponents Inter, and was set last April against Trabzonspor.
Spectators staged a veritable pyrotechnic show, with torches and smoke detectors. It was without a doubt the most spectacular atmosphere in which the lads involved in this match have ever played.

UEFA Youth League history: 50,000 people in Koln – Inter!
The considerable support from the stands did not help Koln's young players to advance in the competition. But they held their own in the first half and went in at half-time with the score 0-0.
Inter opened the scoring in the 49th minute, through Bovio, Koln equalized in '80, goal Schenten, but the Italians struck twice more late in the extra time of the second part, through Zarate Hidalgo ('90+7) and Kukulis ('90+9).
