Details of a car accident with five dead on a highway in the Krasnoyarsk Territory have emerged (video)

The truck whose trailer caused a serious accident in the Krasnoyarsk Territory was driven by a 50-year-old man who had previously been disqualified for driving while intoxicated. The period of deprivation expired in August 2025, but he never regained his driver’s license, according to the traffic police.

Let us recall that on the evening of February 2, at 965 km of the federal highway R-255 “Siberia” in the Rybinsk District, a passenger “Gazelle” collided with the trailer of an “Iveco” truck towing a modular house, which became unhooked and drove into oncoming traffic.

As a result, five people died on the spot. According to updated data, the victims of the accident were three 17-year-olds, an 18-year-old and a 31-year-old woman, accompanying the teenagers.

Six more passengers were taken to hospitals with various injuries. The drivers were not injured.

Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov expressed deep condolences on his social networks to the families and friends of those killed in the terrible accident on the highway:

“The tragedy claimed the lives of five people. Four of them are schoolchildren… The guys were returning to Kansk from Krasnoyarsk, where they were preparing to enter university. Their minibus was hit by a trailer that had become detached from the truck. Six more victims are now in hospitals in Borodino and Kansk. Krasnoyarsk doctors were sent to the children by air ambulance. He instructed the Ministry of Health to provide children with all the necessary assistance. An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway. I am in touch with doctors and law enforcement agencies. “I instructed the governor’s administration and the regional government to quickly make the necessary decisions to support the families of the victims.”

According to the traffic police, traffic on the section of the federal highway R-255 “Siberia”, where the accident with five deaths occurred, has now been restored in both directions.
