Fans of sales on Vinted and OLX should check whether they have received a message from the website with a list of transactions carried out in 2025. According to biznes.interia.pl, by the end of January, the platforms sent reports to users who made transactions above the designated limits, which were also sent to the National Tax Administration. All thanks to the DAC7 directive obliging Vinted, OLX and Allegro to report such operations.

From July 2024, the EU regulations apply in Poland the DAC7 directive, which obliges platforms such as Vinted, OLX or Allegro Lokalnie to report to KAS information on transactions exceeding the established limits. By the end of January 2025, the websites sent such documents to their users and the tax office, which will allow the latter to identify, for example, sellers conducting hidden commercial activities.

In the case of Vinted, reaching one of these thresholds means the need to complete the data in the DAC7 form on the website with your NIP number, and the platform, in turn, provides a full summary of transactions to both the seller and the National Tax Administration by the end of January this year. Contact from OLX or Vinted regarding this matter does not mean that you will have to pay tax immediatelybut it is a signal that the tax office may become interested in the operations carried out on the website and request explanations.
Occasional sales on Vinted and OLX tax-free
If we sell used items on OLX or Vinted, we will generally not pay tax because there are regulations on occasional sales.. According to them, it is payable Getting rid of an item that has been owned for at least half a year does not result in tax liabilityunless it is done as part of a business activity, otherwise the transaction will have to be taxed. For example: 8 months ago we bought a phone which we now want to sell because we are interested in a newer model. We can then list the old equipment on Vinted or OLX, but we will not pay tax. If we did it after 4 months and at a higher price than we bought, we would have to pay 12% tax on the profit (the difference between the sales price and the purchase price).
Exceeding the limit of 30 transactions on Vinted or OLX, and thus receiving the DAC7 report, may apply to many users, but as long as the sale is occasional or we can confirm its non-profit nature, the tax can be avoided.
