The Minister of Development, Cseke Attila, said on Tuesday, on Antena 3 CNN, that there will be no tax increases this year or next year. The UDMR minister added that no party in the governing Coalition is currently assuming any other tax increase, after the austerity measures adopted in 2025.
“There is no risk that any tax will increase any more. I believe that no party in the Coalition today assumes any other increase in taxes and taxes in Romania. I think this is very obvious. From the positions I have seen, including in the Coalition, the increases are over this year. They will not increase either this year or next year,” said Cseke Attila on the show “Romania 360”.
Cseke Attila stated that now the Bolojan Government has remained outstanding with the reduction of state expenses and these are the measures that will follow.
UDMR calls for the review of local taxes
UDMR asked the coalition on Tuesday to reconsider the decision to increase local taxes and fees that took place this year.
“The UDMR is initiating the review of local taxes. People's anger and disappointment are justified. In recent weeks we have taken every opportunity to listen to grievances. We have been present at protests, we have organized hearings and we want to help with all our forces,” reads a press release from the UDMR.
UDMR takes a step back and asks the coalition to rethink local taxes and fees: “The government can do it”
