Just days before the start of his trial for dozens of serious crimes, Marius Borg Høiby was detained by Oslo police on new charges, including assault and threats with a knife.

The son of Norway's crown princess, Marius Borg Høiby, was arrested again on Sunday evening, shortly before the start of the trial in which he is accused of rape. The information was confirmed by the Oslo district police.
According to authorities, Høiby is suspected of assault, threatening with a knife and violating a restraining order. The arrest took place on Sunday evening, just two days before he was due to appear in court in Oslo.
“Oslo Police District can confirm that Marius Borg Høiby was arrested by the police on Sunday evening on charges of assault, threats with a knife and breach of a restraining order”said Andreas Kruszewski, a police lawyer in the Oslo district, according to The Guardian.
Dozens of charges, including rape
Marius Borg Høiby is to be tried in a complex case that includes no less than 38 crimes. These include four counts of rape, domestic abuse of an ex-partner and unlawful filming of multiple women without their knowledge or consent.
Høiby has denied the most serious allegations leveled against him, including those related to sexual abuse.
The police are asking for remand
In the context of the new charges, the police requested that Høiby be placed in detention for a period of four weeks, reasoning that this measure is necessary to prevent the commission of further crimes.
The case attracted considerable public attention in Norway, given Marius Borg Høiby's direct connection to the royal family.
