Group layoffs in Tychy. The FCA plant will eliminate the third shift


According to information from the wkatowicach.eu website, in mid-January the managers of the FCA factory in Tychy announced that the third production shift would be eliminated from March this year. As a result, 740 people are expected to lose their jobs. 300 of them are employed by employment agencies, 140 are people with open-ended contracts, and 300 are employees with temporary contracts.

Until Friday, January 30, negotiations were ongoing between the plant authorities and trade unions regarding the protection of dismissed employees. Ultimately, the terms of the Voluntary Redundancy Program were established.
The local website Tychy Info writes that people who want to apply to PDO can count on favorable financial conditions. Calculations show that those employed at the plant for 4 to 8 years will receive the equivalent of eight months' salary. Those who have worked at the factory for 15 to 16 years are to receive a package equivalent to sixteen salaries. However, employees with over thirty years of experience can expect to be paid twenty-four months of salary.
