An 85-year-old woman was found dead on Saturday in the town of Plopi, Buneşti-Avereşti municipality of Vaslui, there is a suspicion that she was mauled by dogs, informs Agerpres.
“This evening, a B2 ambulance was sent to the town of Plopi for an 85-year-old woman who was found unconscious in a public place. The medical crew arrived there and found the victim without vital signs and with the signs of death already installed. She had a large wound on the upper right limb with the amputation of the forearm. The amputated segment could not be found,” said the spokesperson of the Vaslui County Ambulance Service, Daniel Ungureanu.
The lack of a forearm and the statements of some locals led the authorities to consider, as the most likely hypothesis of death, the attack of a pack of dogs.
“At this moment, the cause of death is not known, but the villagers suspect that the victim could have been attacked by several stray dogs that are constantly present in the area,” Ungureanu said.
The police have opened a criminal investigation file for manslaughter, going to determine the circumstances under which the event occurred.
