Elena Rybakina (26 years old, #5 WTA) walked away with a prize of 2,437,992 euros following her triumph at the Australian Open 2026. The Kazakh player defeated Aryna Sabalenka (27 years old, #1 WTA) in the final, score 6-4, 4-6, 6-4after Belarus led 3-0 in the decider.

The prize fund is identical in the men's draw, so the winner of the grand final between Novak Djokovic (38 years old, #4 ATP) and Carlos Alcaraz (22 years old, #1 ATP) will choose the same prize.

Significant increase in prize money at the Australian Open

Tennis players don't just play in Melbourne for the honor and the trophy, but also for considerable sums of money. The prize pool of the Australian Open has been increased significantly. Even an early elimination fetches a 6-figure sum in Australian dollars.
