Putin's envoy arrived for negotiations in the USA and showed the beach

Reuters reported that Dmitriev is scheduled to meet with representatives of US President Donald Trump in the US in Miami before the next round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, which is scheduled for February 1 in Abu Dhabi. As US Secretary of State Mark Rubio said, White House special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner will not be present at the negotiations in the UAE. Trump himself voiced his confidence that Kyiv and Moscow could successfully hold a meeting without the Americans.

Dmitriev published a photo with a satellite map showing a plane approaching Miami. Putin's negotiator signed the publication with a white dove emoji, that is, a dove of peace.

In the comments, Dmitriev wrote that peace would prevail and recalled “threats to those who strive for peace” from people “interested in continuing the war.” He did not indicate who he meant.

Later on Instagram, Dmitriev published a photo of the beach and the sun rising over the sea.

Neither side has yet announced the exact purpose of the visit.

Context

The first round of negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine, the aggressor country of the Russian Federation and the United States in Abu Dhabi took place on January 23. The media wrote that this meeting was “productive.” On January 24, the parties continued trilateral negotiations; they lasted more than three hours. Zelensky called them “constructive.” According to the head of the Ukrainian state, the parties discussed a “peace plan” of 20 points, including “problematic issues,” which were initially very numerous, but “they became fewer.”

Negotiations in the UAE took place without progress in politics, but with a shift in the military bloc, the media noted.

Based on the results of negotiations between Ukraine, the United States and the Russian Federation in Abu Dhabi on January 23 and 24 sides didn't reach a compromise on the territorial issue, Reuters wrote. According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga, the issues of territories and the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant are the most sensitive during peace negotiations in Ukraine.
