

Context
The first round of negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine, the aggressor country of the Russian Federation and the United States in Abu Dhabi took place on January 23. The USA was represented by Witkoff, Kushner and Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll. In the evening, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky reported that they were discussing the parameters for ending the war.
The media wrote that this meeting was “productive.” According to Reuters, on January 23 in Abu Dhabi the parties did not reach a compromise on the territorial issue.
On January 24, the parties continued trilateral negotiations; they lasted more than three hours. Zelensky called them “constructive”.
The President of Ukraine later said that during the negotiations in Abu Dhabi, the parties discussed a “peace plan” of 20 points, including “problematic issues,” which were initially many, but “they became fewer.”
Negotiations in the UAE took place without progress in policy, but with a shift in the military bloc, the media noted. The parties agreed to extend meetings in Abu Dhabi.
