Not everyone knows how to restore whiteness to things that even powder can no longer save. Over time, cotton diapers, T-shirts or underwear turn yellow, especially in the armpits or collar area, and appear hopelessly old. But there is an easy way to restore their freshness and it is already in your kitchen.
To begin, pour 5–6 liters of hot water, not boiling water, into a basin. Add half a cup of baking soda and stir well until dissolved. Baking soda can be safely used even for children's clothes; it gently whitens without chlorine.
Immerse pre-washed items in the solution and leave for 40 minutes. You will be surprised how quickly the water darkens as dirt and yellowness comes out of the fabric.
After soaking, drain the water, rinse the items in clean water and machine wash as usual. No need to add bleach; baking soda has already done its job.
Your things will again look like new white, fresh and without a grayish coating. And most importantly, without aggressive chemicals.
