The Kremlin called the Ultimatum of the American president “very serious”, but he noted that Kiev was receiving his words “not as a signal to peace, but as a signal to continue the war.”
A spokesman for the President of Russia Dmitry Pieskov called all interested parties to put pressure on Kiev to agree to the new round of direct conversations with Moscow. Then the President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zełenski proposed the third round of conversations in Istanbul, which is to take place on Wednesday. According to him, then the issue of returning prisoners and kidnapped children will be discussed, as well as the preparation of a meeting of leaders of both countries.

Earlier, the former adviser of Trump John Bolton suggested that the president, setting a 50-day deadline for the end of the war, is preparing to withdraw from negotiations in the matter of Ukraine.
According to him, the ultimatum itself was picked up in Moscow as “a license to continue unlimited attacks”, and the threat of sanctions looks “funny”. According to Bolton, Trump will find reasons not to take any action against Russia after the deadline has expired and “wash his hands”.
