
Ukrainian culinary YouTube blogger Liliya Tsvit on January 30 told how to make soft and airy bagels without eggs, butter and sour cream.
According to the blogger, this is a budget-friendly dough recipe that produces divine homemade cakes.
Ingredients:
- 250 ml warm water;
- 80 ml vegetable oil;
- 20 g pressed yeast;
- 2 tbsp. l. Sahara;
- 550 g wheat flour;
- thick jam for filling;
- milk or water for lubrication;
- powdered sugar for sprinkling.
Preparation:
- Combine warm water, vegetable oil, yeast and sugar. Mix well.
- Gradually add sifted flour and knead into a soft, elastic dough.
- Grease the dough with vegetable oil, cover with cling film and leave in a warm place for one hour.
- When the dough rises, divide it into three parts. Roll each part into a circle about 0.5 cm thick.
- Cut the circle into eight triangles. Place thick jam on the wide part of each triangle and roll it into a bagel.
- Place the pieces on a baking sheet with parchment, leaving space between them.
- Leave the bagels for 10 minutes, then brush with milk or water.
- Bake in the oven at 180°C for about 30 minutes.
- Grease hot bagels with vegetable oil and sprinkle with powdered sugar
Important details:
- The jam should be very thick so that it does not leak out.
- Brushing hot bagels with butter makes them extra soft.
