Make fluffy and delicious bagels without eggs or butter. Budget dough recipe

Ukrainian culinary YouTube blogger Liliya Tsvit on January 30 told how to make soft and airy bagels without eggs, butter and sour cream.

According to the blogger, this is a budget-friendly dough recipe that produces divine homemade cakes.

Ingredients:

  • 250 ml warm water;
  • 80 ml vegetable oil;
  • 20 g pressed yeast;
  • 2 tbsp. l. Sahara;
  • 550 g wheat flour;
  • thick jam for filling;
  • milk or water for lubrication;
  • powdered sugar for sprinkling.

Preparation:

  1. Combine warm water, vegetable oil, yeast and sugar. Mix well.
  2. Gradually add sifted flour and knead into a soft, elastic dough.
  3. Grease the dough with vegetable oil, cover with cling film and leave in a warm place for one hour.
  4. When the dough rises, divide it into three parts. Roll each part into a circle about 0.5 cm thick.
  5. Cut the circle into eight triangles. Place thick jam on the wide part of each triangle and roll it into a bagel.
  6. Place the pieces on a baking sheet with parchment, leaving space between them.
  7. Leave the bagels for 10 minutes, then brush with milk or water.
  8. Bake in the oven at 180°C for about 30 minutes.
  9. Grease hot bagels with vegetable oil and sprinkle with powdered sugar

Important details:

  1. The jam should be very thick so that it does not leak out.
  2. Brushing hot bagels with butter makes them extra soft.
