A reduction in the value added tax rate in Russia can happen in a short time, the head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, Anatoly Aksakov, said on the Russia 24 TV channel. According to him, business views the current tax increase as a temporary measure.
Judging by my meetings with business, he understands that this decision is forced and this decision will allow us to resolve social issues and issues of defense capability and investment development. Based on the president’s decision, on the fact that he stated that this is a temporary measure, there will be a reduction in VAT. I am sure that this will happen in a fairly short time, – said Aksakov.
The head of the Duma committee called ensuring a smooth transition of entrepreneurs to new tax conditions as a key task at the current stage. According to him, businesses need time to adapt to the updated taxation system.
