“The massive Armada is heading towards Iran. It is moving quickly, with great strength, enthusiasm and determination. This is a larger fleet, commanded by the great aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, than the one deployed to Venezuela. As with Venezuela, it is ready, willing and able to accomplish its mission quickly, with speed and violence if necessary,” Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social.

“Let's hope that Iran will quickly 'sit to the table' and negotiate a fair and just agreement – NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS – beneficial to all parties,” he added.

The US president noted that “time is running out” and recalled that when Iran refused to abandon its nuclear program in June, it was attacked.

“The next attack will be much worse! Don't let that happen again,” the president warned.

This is Trump's second threat against Tehran in recent days. On Tuesday, he said that “another armada” was heading towards Iran, calling on Tehran to conclude a deal. The first “armada” he referred to was the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group, which was sent to the Middle East region from the South China Sea after Trump signaled he was abandoning his intention to strike Iran following Tehran's cancellation of executions of anti-government protesters.

It is not yet clear what other ships were sent to the region, but earlier reports, including Fox News said that two other aircraft carriers had sailed from their ports in recent weeks – the USS Theodore Roosevelt from San Diego and the USS George HW Bush.

Trump previously said that the ships were sent to the region to give him options to strike Iran, although he stressed that he preferred a diplomatic solution. – They want to make an agreement. I know that. They called many times. They want to talk, the president claimed on Sunday.
