Rarely seen weapons have appeared on the front lines. The Russians must have been completely surprised

The war in Ukraine is not slowing down, as shown by the events of recent days, during which many new reports appeared in the media. For example, a video of three Russian soldiers surrendering to a Ukrainian ground combat drone is going viral on the Internet. These types of structures are increasingly participating in battles on the front line and, as you can see, they are becoming more and more effective in the fight against the Kremlin forces.
And this is just one of several interesting events related to operations on the front. A recording of a long-unseen Western weapon operating in Ukraine has also appeared on the Internet. In turn, there are many indications that Kiev may have problems with the supply of the crucial and extremely dangerous Storm Shadow cruise missiles. According to media reports, Ukraine is also continuing to seek supplies of lethal Tomahawk missiles.
“Ukrainian terminator” takes Russians prisoner
It is no secret that the Ukrainian army is increasingly willing to use ground combat drones and, as the new recording shows, this type of structures are becoming more and more effective in the fight against the Russian aggressor. In a video that appeared on the Internet, we can see this type of thing a remotely controlled “soldier”, equipped with a heavy machine guntakes three Russian soldiers prisoner.
The first information about the use of ground combat drones by Ukraine appeared at the end of 2024 and, as you can see, they constitute an increasingly important component of the local army. The models we have been shown so far are equipped with heavy machine guns and systems that protect them against electronic jamming and are used in both defensive and offensive operations.
This recording is also another proof of how the face of the war in Ukraine is changing and what an important role unmanned vehicles play there. AND As President Zelensky announced, Ukraine wants to produce a total of 7 million various combat drones in 2026. This is as much as 3 million more than in 2025! It is clear that Kyiv understands the changing conditions on the front.
A previously unseen weapon gives the Russians a hard time
Artillery systems are still one of the most important types of equipment in the Ukrainian army. Our neighbor has many different structures of this type, and also uses various types of artillery ammunition, including the M712 Copperhead missile, which secretly reached Kiev at the end of 2024. We first saw it in recordings from the front, and only after a few months, at the beginning of 2025, we received official confirmation of such a transfer.
The M712 is a 155mm laser-guided precision munition with a range of 16 km, equipped with an approximately 6.5-kilogram shaped charge. It can be fired from various artillery systems, including American M114, M109 or M777 guns or French CAESAR howitzers, and can be used to eliminate static and moving targets. We can see its deadly effectiveness and precision in the new fight recording:
It is also an interesting weapon because it has two modes of operation – ballistic and gliding. The former works great in good visibility and high clouds, the latter is used in poor visibility and bad weather conditions. Thanks to this, the copperhead hits the enemy in virtually every situation and does it not only with great precision, but also with truly devastating effect. As if that wasn't enough, it is a missile that is virtually impossible to stop in front-line conditions.
France wants to stop the delivery of lethal missiles
Another deadly arsenal in Ukraine's service is the Storm Shadow cruise missile, which came to Kiev from Great Britain and quickly became a terror for Russian forces. It's no wonder that our neighbor would like to buy more copies of this weapon. However, according to British media reports, France is trying to block the transaction. Ukraine wants to use funds from a loan granted by the European Union to the authorities in Kiev for the purchase, but the French believe that these funds should first go to weapons produced by European Union countries – to which Great Britain is not a member.

The Storm Shadow missile (and its French version SCALP) is a weapon developed as part of the British-French cooperation, which results in an air-launched cruise missile designed to attack the enemy deep behind the front line. The missile can operate in extreme weather conditions both day and night and boasts very high accuracywhich he cares about, among others inertial navigation system supported by a GPS signal.
Thanks to low radar detection combined with the ability to fly at a very low altitude of several dozen meters, the bullet is also difficult to knock down. The effectiveness of the attack on the enemy is ensured by a powerful, 450-kilogram warhead, which can destroy the target in several different modes of operation (direct impact, air explosion or penetration).
For now, it is not known how this matter will end, but Kiev will probably want to quickly solve this problem so that Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles continue to flow into warehouses regularly, they are deadly effective in attacking various Russian targets of high strategic value — from command centers to ammunition depots.
Tomahawks back in the game?
And speaking of extremely dangerous missiles, it seems that talks about sending American Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine continue. According to “Kyiv Post”, Ukraine is still conducting behind-the-scenes talks on acquiring these weapons, supervised by Dan Rice, president of the American University in Kiev and former special advisor to the Ukrainian command.
Rice has reportedly met with US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth in recent days and, according to a Ukrainian website, allegedly there is a chance to send these weapons to the front so that they would be an element of pressure on Putin. The website writes:
His proposal is simple, and its purpose is to scare the Kremlin. Send an unspecified number of missiles, use one per day to attack high-value targets, increase the pace of attacks if Putin rejects the ceasefire proposal.

Tomahawk is a cruise missile with a range of up to 2.5 thousand km. km, so in this respect, the ATACMS ballistic missiles that Ukraine received from the USA some time ago are much less dangerous, because they have a range of only 300 km. Tomahawks, like other cruise missiles, are an arsenal designed mainly for precise strikes against enemy infrastructure – from command centers, bunkers, ammunition depots, to air defense systems, bridges and power plants, and as we can see in the map below, if Ukraine received this weapon, it could attack targets hundreds of kilometers deep into Russia.

Time will tell whether Rice's attempts to influence the White House will bear fruit. However, the Kyiv Post reports that his proposal apparently has an increasing number of supporters. The only question is whether President Donald Trump will also be among them.
