Ciprian Ciucu, the PNL candidate for the Capital City Hall, described Daniel Băluță as his “main” opponent from Sunday's elections and claims that there are several differences between him and his opponent from the PSD, including the way they relate to the law and administrative procedures.

Asked on Thursday at Euronews about the statement of the social democrat Victor Negrescu according to which the main opponent of Daniel Băluță is Cătălin Drula from the USR, the liberal answered: “I have seen a coordination in the last week between the two campaign teams, PSD and USR, the PSD team trying to boost the candidacy of Mr. Drula (…), to take the trust that the people of Bucharest have given me and transfer it to Mr. Drula.”

On Wednesday evening, on Antena 3, Daniel Băluță had accused Ciprian Ciucu of “having a clear table” with Anca Alexandrescu, the candidate supported by AUR.

Ciucu claims that between him and Băluță “there is a very big difference”

The liberal listed the reasons he claims differentiate him from his PSD opponent.

“There is a very big difference between me and Mr. Băluță, from the way we operate administratively, and here it is said that I always act legally, even if sometimes it is more difficult, it takes longer. Today, for example, I started the works for Drumul Belșugului, but I have been dealing with this project for three and a half years, almost four. I did not want to burn stages, to skip approvals”, declared Ciprian Ciucu.

The mayor of District 6 also claimed that he does “things legally”, while the mayor of District 4 “is much more inventive”.

“I do things legally, one at a time. He is much more inventive (…) in inventing administrative issues, within the limits of the law. Two at a time, he comes with a baggage that I do not come with. You have seen what has appeared in the media lately, that is, his lordship's parents to buy eight apartments in a building belonging to Mr. Negoiță and things like that… I have never had that much money and I don't have it. Obviously, it is very, very much question marks related to integrity”, added Ciprian Ciucu, alluding to the information from the investigation related to the real estate assets of Daniel Băluță's family, published by Snoop and Public Record, which the social democrat denied.

The PNL candidate said that there are also differences between him and the PNL opponent in “matters of taste”.

“If you go and see what Mr. Băluță worked on and how he laid out the sector… In the end, the problem is design. Well, it's a matter of taste in the end, I don't know if tastes are discussed or not, but he has this tendency to put a lot of colors, cyclamen, candy pink, purple, red, yellow. Today, in European, civilized cities, I consulted with landscapers, with specialists, much more subdued, much more natural colors are used, such as the gray of the stone, the brown of the bark of the trees or the more faded green, in the landscaping, and so here too we have a different vision, in terms of how a city should look, the appearance of a city”, concluded Ciprian Ciucu.
