Marine mine stranded on the beach near the Midia firing range, MApN announces


A marine mine was discovered on Wednesday morning by the military at the Midia firing range, MApN representatives reported.
According to the Ministry of National Defense, the military detected, on Wednesday, around 10:05 a.m., the sea mine stranded on the beach next to the training ground, located on the shore of the Black Sea, 30 km north of the city of Constanţa.
The perimeter was secured, with the support of the Constanța County Police Inspectorate, and the operational procedure specific to this situation was implemented, according to MApN.
Also, a team of EOD divers from the 39 Divers Center acts to identify and neutralize the discovered mine.
The incident comes after Monday, the Coast Guard discovered, at the entrance to Midia Port, a fragment of an aerial drone, floating adrift. The object was destroyed by detonation.
The port of Midia is a short distance from the Capu Midia surface-to-air firing range, where the French Army, the framework country leading the NATO Battle Group in Romania, has installed a Mamba anti-aircraft missile system.
