The Ministry of Finance is expanding e-TOLL. Nearly 6 thousand km of toll roads in Poland


The new sections include: fragments of the A2 motorway between Kałuszyn and Siedlce, the S1 road on the Podwarpie-Dąbrowa Górnicza Pogoria and Żywiec-Węgierska Górka sections, as well as sections of the S3, S5, S7, S11, S12, S14, S16, S17, S52 and S61 routes. Parts of national roads DK8, DK12, DK50 and DK91 were also selected for toll collection.

As stated in the Regulatory Impact Assessment, this year, planned revenues from toll collection in the e-TOLL system are expected to amount to almost PLN 6.6 billion.
The justification for the regulation stated that its main goal is to increase the revenues of the National Road Fund to provide financing for further development and maintenance of road infrastructure. Pthe increase in rates is aimed at making them more realistic and adapting them to average European rates, to the benefit of the competitiveness of railway transport and ecological reasons.
E-TOLL toll rates up. Who will be affected by the increase?
Currently, the electronic toll is collected for vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons on approximately 5,225 km of national roads, and after the planned extension, the toll will be collected on approx. 5,869 km (extension by approx. 645 km) of motorways, expressways and selected sections of GP and G class national roads.
Most recently, the toll road network was expanded in November 2024 by approximately 1,600 km.

In Poland, toll collection is carried out by e-TOLL and is carried out using a satellite system. There is no need to install devices for this purpose on the roads.
