The 2nd District Court set the deadline in the relevant case the exclusion of FCU Craiova from League 2. Adrian Mititelu's club requests the annulment of the FRF decision and the reinstatement of the team in the second echelon, starting with the 2026-2027 season.
In June 2025, FCU Craiova did not receive the license for League 2. The club from Olt started the 2025-2026 season in League 3, but in September it was removed from all competitions by the FRF, due to the team's debts.
Adrian Mititelu went to court, considering that the exclusion of FCU Craiova from League 2 was abusive. On May 8, 2026, the term in this file will take place.

“The court set the deadline in the case of the exclusion from the 2nd League. The 2nd District Court, Bucharest, set a deadline of May 8, 2026 in the case concerning the illegal and abusive exclusion of FCU from the 2nd League.

What FRF and FCU Craiova were broadcasting in June 2025, after the club's exclusion from League 2
“The claim that the club FCU 1948 Craiova Fotbal Club SA did not go through the certification process for participation in League 2 is false. In reality, the club fully followed the certification procedure provided by the regulation.
However, the request for the Certificate of Participation in the League 2 National Championship was rejected. We note that, for reasons of confidentiality, the details that were the basis of the rejection will not be made public, and the decision is final internally”, FRF.ro reported on June 19, 2025.
Adrian Mititelu's team responded then: “Our club informs the public about the following: Our club applied for the licensing procedure only formally, in order to be able, within this procedure, to draw the attention of the so-called members regarding the illegality in which they operate.
In front of both licensing commissions, our club argued that the licensing procedure is illegal, both in terms of the so-called regulation that is implemented, and in terms of the persons appointed to carry out this procedure”.
