Supporters decided not to go to the match in Lyon and more fans came to Toumba Arena in Thessaloniki to pay their respects to the 7 deceased supporters.
Răzvan Lucescu, Christos Karypidis, the sports director, and Vierinha, together with a group of players, came to the stadium in Thessaloniki with flowers and candles. Also, the supporters of PAOK also came to the yard of the arena to honor the deceased supporters in Timiș county.
As early as 18:00, PAOK supporters started gathering at “Toumba”. From that time, the first candles and flowers began to appear at the gates of the stadium in Thessaloniki.
The club lowered the flags around the stadium to half mast, a sign of mourning.
Indeed, it is a tragedy, immense. Probably, in Romania, such a situation is not perceived in the same way as here. But PAOK is something special. Everyone who supports PAOK considers themselves to be in a huge family.
When such a tragedy occurs, emotionally, it is felt enormously. It is always lived at the highest level. The sadness is immense! Hard to explain in words. In addition to the experiences of supporters who consider themselves relatives, there are the families of those involved in the accident.
I don't want to think and feel so sorry for what they are going through right now. Our hearts are with them. We are talking about some young people, it's a shame what happened.
Tragedies exist, they are every moment in this world. History is full of tragedies. Everyone must have the strength to move forward, and we must support them from all points of view. To feel that there is a big family next to them that can help them move forward. Somehow, we must go forward
