“Kharkov is a city that took a blow and survived. Not as a symbol, but as a reality,” the photographer noted.
Revutsky emphasized that the photo project is a visual chronicle of the city, which became a target and at the same time a support.
“A city that was broken by artillery, rockets, the pressure of fear – and was not broken. Here reinforced concrete is not only in the structures. It is in the people, in the silence of the courtyards, in the rhythm of life under sirens. This is a fixation of the state, urban character, everyday sustainability, which does not require loud words. In the frame – Kharkov, the space between “was” and “is”, between home and shelter, between the habit of living and the need to survive,” added Revutsky. “Kharkov Reinforced Concrete is about endurance. About a city that has not retreated.”
