In Krasnoyarsk, two former opera singers were convicted of accepting a bribe from a businessman (video)

The court recognized two ex-semployees of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes and Anti-Corruption Krasnoyarsk police guilty of taking a bribe and punished with imprisonment.

The crime was committed in 2024. It was established that the defendants decided not to help free of charge the head of the construction company SK Region, who was suspected of fraud.

“The businessman, who was terrified of the pre-trial detention center because of a previous conviction, was hinted that cooperation was his only chance. He believed and actively made contact, starting to write a confession, say the prosecutor’s office. — His partners informed him in advance about the impending initiation of a criminal case and a search, depriving the investigation of the element of surprise. Then they provided incomplete information about the suspect’s property status, effectively hiding part of the assets. For this special loyalty, during one of the meetings, the businessman, shaking the operative’s hand, handed him $300 with the words: “This is for you. For cigarettes and beer.” This first amount was only an advance. Later, the parties agreed on a million rubles for further assistance, but their plans were not destined to come true – the transfer of money in a vacant lot was recorded by FSB officers.”

According to Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the ex-policemen were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 8 to 9 years in a maximum security colony, with a fine of 2 million rubles each. The court also confiscated the equivalent of the bribe received – 13 thousand rubles from each.

The criminal case against the bribe-giver has been separated into separate proceedings.
