In Krasnoyarsk, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists identified dangerous quarantine organisms in shipments of pomegranate and pepper from China.
The department said that quarantine phytosanitary control was carried out at the temporary storage warehouse of Agroterminal-Customs LLC. Rosselkhoznadzor employees checked shipments of pomegranates and peppers weighing more than 2.5 tons imported from the People's Republic of China.
“Samples were selected and sent for research to the laboratory of the Krasnoyarsk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “TsK Agroindustrial Complex”. As a result of research, quarantine harmful objects were found in pomegranates and peppers – Western flower thrips and Comstock mealybugs. This was confirmed by the conclusions of the quarantine examination,” the regional Rosselkhoznadzor clarified.
To prevent the threat of harm to agriculture and the economy of the region, the person who imported products infected with a dangerous pest was issued a notice of the need to take action.
Fruits and vegetables were treated with drugs that are safe for humans.
