T2, a Russian mobile operator, has improved coverage in Siberian regions by deploying base stations. In 2025, the company installed new communication towers where there was previously no infrastructure. In places with constantly growing Internet traffic, where it was necessary to increase network capacity for the comfort of customers, the operator's engineers installed additional base stations.
Modernization of the T2 communication infrastructure in the Siberia macro-region has improved the quality of voice transmission and the speed of mobile Internet. The operator paid special attention to places with high traffic – airports, train stations, parks and other public spaces. The coverage has also been improved in residential areas of cities, tourist areas, and on highways.
The operator placed additional equipment at the largest airport beyond the Urals – Novosibirsk Tolmachevo. New transmitters provided better communications inside the airport and in the surrounding area, including in the landing area and on the apron.
The coverage has also been improved in one of the largest zoos in Russia – Novosibirsk. After installing additional base stations, the maximum Internet speed in the zoo exceeded 200 Mbit/s.
At three popular ski resorts in the Kemerovo region – in Sheregesh, Yugus and Tanai – the operator expanded the frequency band for 4G Internet, and in Sheregesh additionally built three new towers. After upgrading, T2 clients can use mobile Internet 30% faster. Voice communication works stably, you can send videos, photos and broadcast live directly from the slopes.
In small settlements of Siberia – villages, towns and villages, where there was previously no operator coverage – 306 cell towers were installed. Among such settlements is the northernmost settlement of Russia – the village of Dikson on the Taimyr Peninsula in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Operator T2 installed two towers: one on the mainland part of Dikson, the second on the island. The equipment operates in 2G and 4G standards, which allows you not only to make calls, but also to use the mobile Internet. Communications were also provided to the Evenki village of Chirinda in the Putorana Plateau area, the village of Altamash on the territory of the Shorsky National Park in the south of Kuzbass, and the villages of Abay and Yustik in one of the most remote and sparsely populated regions of the Altai Republic – Ust-Koksinsky.
Despite external restrictions on the use of data services, T2 continued to invest in network development and improve the customer experience of using the mobile Internet. The company's engineers placed a total of 77 sets of equipment in residential areas of large cities. The work was carried out in 15 Siberian cities, including regional centers. Some of the new base stations operate at low frequencies to ensure signal penetration into elevators, basements, basements and other places with difficult radio reception conditions.
The macroregion “Siberia” T2 includes the Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo regions, Krasnoyarsk and Altai territories, the Republics of Altai, Tyva, Khakassia.
