The party led by George Simion is in first place in the voting intention for the parliamentary elections, according to a CURS survey published today. AUR is quoted at 35%, below the result given on Wednesday by another survey carried out by INSCOP at the time, as well as the one given by IRES at the end of 2025.

  • The survey was carried out on a sample of 1067 people aged over 18. The data was collected by the CATI method January 14–23, 2026. The margin of error is ±3% at a confidence level of 95%.

When asked who they would vote for if there were presidential elections on Sunday, 35% of Romanians answered with AUR. An INSCOP survey published on Wednesday gave a percentage of 40.9%, and the IRES published in the last days of 2025 indicated 36%. Compared to the previous research carried out by CURS in December, AUR is stagnating at 35%.

AUR is followed by the four parties that currently form the governing coalition. PSD is rated with 23% of voting intentions, while PNL is rated with 18%, USR at 10%, and UDMR at 5%. Together, the governing coalition would collect 56%, enough to have a majority.

Diana Șoșoacă's party, SOS Romania, has a percentage of 5% in the survey, a score sufficient to make the electoral threshold. Another party now in Parliament, POT led by Anamaria Gavrilă is below this threshold, with 2%.

What results do the previous polls give?

An INSCOP survey published on Wednesday says that the AUR leads by far in the intention to vote in the parliamentary elections with 40.9%. PSD would rank in 2nd place, with a score of 24%. PNL is 3rd in voting intention, with 15%, followed by USR (10%) and POT (7%). UDMR and SOS Romania are placed by research at scores of 4%, “and other formations amount to 1%”.

An IRES study published at the end of 2025 gave AUR at 36%, followed by PSD – 21%, PNL – 18%, USR – 11%. The rest of the parties were below 5%.

The CURS poll from December put AUR at 35% of the votes, followed by PSD at 22%, and PNL at 19%. USR would get 9%, while UDMR and SOS Romania are each quoted with 5%.

The next parliamentary elections will take place at the end of 2028.
