The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory took part in the Council of Legislators on the Day of Russian Parliamentarism

On April 27, a meeting of the Council of Legislators of Russia at the Federal Assembly was held in St. Petersburg. On this day 120 years ago, the first State Duma in the history of the country began its work. Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexey Dodatko took part in the meeting.

Legislators considered measures to strengthen civil unity, interethnic and interfaith harmony. Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko emphasized the significant role of regional parliaments, which work not only within the framework of the agenda of the subjects of the Federation, but also have the constitutional right to legislative initiative at the federal level. First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Alexander Zhukov said that authorities at all levels are carrying out consistent work aimed at strengthening the multinational state.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova recalled that this year a new strategy for the state national policy of the Russian Federation for the period until 2036 came into force. “For the first time, the Strategy provides a separate section dedicated to state national policy in the regions. The constituent entities of the Russian Federation are recommended to develop their own regional plans for its implementation,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Commenting on the results of the discussion, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexey Dodatko emphasized: “Russia is an amazing country that is multinational and multi-religious. At the same time, as was said at today’s meeting, external forces are trying to sow discord. That is why specific solutions are being developed at the legislative level: strengthening educational work among young people, supporting traditional spiritual and moral values, developing national and cultural autonomies and improving legislation in the field of interethnic relations. Our region has accumulated a lot of experience in this direction. At the regional level, decisions are made that protect peace and harmony in society, promote the equality of all peoples and the preservation of their cultures. I am confident that only through dialogue, respect and joint work will we preserve and increase the main wealth of our country – its united and strong people.”
