Minister of Ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Vladimir Chasovitin made a report on the environmental situation in the region at a session of the regional parliament.
The close attention of the deputy corps to the speech of the Minister of Ecology on the environmental situation in the region in 2024 and the active discussion of his report within the walls of the Legislative Assembly showed that environmental issues remain one of the most important topics in the life of the industrial Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the region Dmitry Sviridov commented on Chasovitin’s speech:
“Last year, meaningful work was carried out to reduce air emissions in the largest cities of our region. Significant positive changes in the environmental situation were noted in Norilsk – including a registered decrease in the maximum concentration of suspended solids and sulfur dioxide by 30%. Undoubtedly, this is the result of the launch and operation of the Sulfur Program. I would like to note that the northern deputies, during the discussion of the minister’s report, recommended paying special attention to the work of the regional operator in the management of solid waste in the Arctic territories. Of course, it is necessary to improve the quality of his company, update equipment, and constantly interact with the reoperator services and local management companies to maintain the cleanliness of northern cities and towns. The proposals and comments of the deputies will be reflected in the resolution of the Legislative Assembly based on the results of the report.”
